Coach: Business doesn’t have to be busy

If you look at the word business and translate it into Dutch, it says something about “busyness,” busy is that you are busy. A coach for business often helps you get even busier, but what if you are already very successful, and yet you are not completely happy with your work or your business?

In that case, you can use a business coach to help you feel no pressure from your work so that it can flow nicely. It then no longer feels like busyness, but a (fun) activity.

For business coaching, I use PMC’s laws of success.

PMC’s success laws, for example, are about more than just business success; they are about achieving success and feeling good about it. Of course work remains work, but if you experience tension because of it, it’s not fun and you notice that in your success. These laws of success help you feel good about your work, and your staff or other people who help you with your business will notice.

Feeling good can be done in 2 ways. There are even 2 terms coined for it, namely your hedonistic well-being and your eudaimonistic well-being. Your hedonic well-being is well-being created by doing things that make you feel good, such as watching a nice movie, going out with friends, doing something fun with your partner.

Your eudaimonistic well-being is well-being created by feeling good about who you are and what you do. You feel good because you are developing yourself and taking good care of yourself[1].

Now research shows that business owners who feel especially happy with the latter form of well-being are more likely to be proactive. Thus, these are more entrepreneurial and would therefore logically be more successful[2].

Coach: Business is self-development

For example, if you find that watching that one movie no longer works to make you feel good, and so you don’t actually feel great 24/7, even though you have a certain amount of success, then it’s time to look at eudaimonism[3], at well-being through self-development.

One of the first steps that will help you is for us to take a look at your thought process. How do you think about your work? How do you feel about the people who help you with your business? After all, your thoughts have a lot of influence on how you feel and on what you do as a result. So they have a lot of influence on what you (can) create and to what extent you can develop yourself.

This is one of the most beautiful journeys in your life you can take, because you are not only getting to work with your mind, but also with your brain. You will make new connections that will make it easier to reach solutions. Problems in your business (and even in your personal life) that are causing stress now will start to be viewed in a different way, allowing you to solve them faster.
